To help promote personal saving and financial literacy among Americans, a number of financial organizations have teamed up to create Your Money Bus, a year-long coast-to-coast bus tour with fee-only financial advisors providing free advice events and symposiums where you can learn what you need to do to start saving and get your financial life in order.
Your Money Bus Tour will be making more than 25 stops across the country. In each city and town the bus visits events are held in conjunction with city and civic organizations to reach out to consumers who have questions about their personal financial well-being. The schedule of bus tour stops is available here.
Individual consultations with volunteer financial advisor are offered absolutely free without any sales pitch. Although you can walk up to the bus and talk with an advisor the day of the event, the organizers strongly encourage people to make an appointment in advance, which can be done online via the website.
And, even if you can’t make it to one of the tour stops you can still get help. There’s free basic advice on savings and financial planning available via the Virtual Tour option, where you have the opportunity to submit a question to a fee-only financial advisor.
So hop on board….next stop, financial freedom!
